Farm and Estate Sales
Prices peaked in the summer of 2008 at approx £6500 per acre, by xmas they had fallen by some £1000 per acre.
Mid June 2009 approx 70000 acres had been marketed with prices at £5250 per acre and £4560 per acre for grassland. They are set to rise again......why?
wheat is undervalued, falls in production, consumption rising.
Milk prices are under pressure with energy, feed, labour and replacement prices all rising.Beef sector remains strong, sheep have eased from near record levels.Fertiliser prices have nearly halved, fuel is after yesterday rising.
Profitibility of arable cropping will rise and it is likely land prices will follow.
Country house prices have fallen but farms, sporting estates have not.
Great expectations!!
