stewardship- renewal of agreements
Many of those with stewardship agreements are not likely to renew.
Low support payments and too much paperwork are seen as the major stumbling blocks.
Fewer than 40% of the farmers surveyed said they were willing to to take land out of production now set aside has been abolished.
DEFRA said that the schemes were very successful ??
Many of the existing 26000 ELS agreements are due to expire on 1st August 2010 and it is therefore imperative to submit your forms of renewal in plenty of time especially if you want to make changes to your current agreements.There are new options and you can contact me to do the forms so that agreements run seamlessly.
The ELS scheme is worth £30.00/ha or £12 /acre to Lowland farmers.
